I love Lewis Black. Creationism and Intelligent Design are the dumbest, most ignorant shit. The fact that people are always acting like there’s no way to prove evolution is why it bothers me so much. I mean, there’s no “agree to disagree” here. If creationists want to pretend like there’s a discussion they better bring some evidence. It should go without saying, but reading Genesis isn’t fucking evidence, it’s embarrassment. Reasonable, intelligent people everywhere need to stop allowing the discussion to continue as if the two schools of thought can be weighted equally, enough compromise.
I’ll qualify this by saying that I don’t think it’s ridiculous for a religious person to say that God caused the Big Bang or maybe started the very first evolutionary cycle, but as soon as someone brings up the Garden of Eden they should be silent.
Jon Hamm gives advice to teenage girls. So good.
But of course there are all different kinds of freedom, and the kind that is most precious you will not hear much talk about much in the great outside world of wanting and achieving. The really important kind of freedom involves attention and awareness and discipline, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them over and over in myriad petty, unsexy ways every day.
That is real freedom. That is being educated, and understanding how to think. The alternative is unconsciousness, the default setting, the rat race, the constant gnawing sense of having had, and lost, some infinite thing.
In regards to Justin Bieber calling Indonesia a random country (240 million people), mocking/correcting British people’s accents, and carrying on like he’s anything more than a giant piece of shit. It’s good to see Justin confirm that people who hate him don’t hate him for his success, they hate him because he is a douche.

It’s not often that something is both dope and adorable. This qualifies. The kid is killing it. Kanye needs to make this the official video.
“Lovers’ Carvings” -Bibio
This song was featured in the Google Project Glass video that came out recently. I think it was the highlight of learning about our future Matrix-like existence under the Google overlords. It’s a really nice song for summer, and the tune easily gets stuck in your head. I know I’ve been humming it to myself as I walk in Washington Square Park.
This is the best thing TNT has ever done. Belgium will never be the same now that the drama has been brought.
